Transfluid
Founded in Milan in 1957, Transfluid has always been a benchmark in the industrial transmission sector.
The terms “traction and hybrid propulsion” are now commonly used, as the continuous increase in air and noise pollution has led manufacturers of vehicles and industrial machinery to invest energy and resources in developing less polluting hybrid systems.
The partnership between G.B.M. and TRANSFLUID aims to introduce and develop the concept of green mobility in the railway maintenance vehicle sector.
Railway work sites along the tracks are considered “workplaces”, where environmental protection—especially in tunnels—requires increasing attention. In this context, the Transfluid hybrid traction and propulsion system enables a railway maintenance vehicle to operate with ZERO emissions, having a direct positive impact both on the environment and on workplace health and safety.
The TRANSFLUID hybrid system offers three operating modes:
- Full-electric mode: Zero emissions and zero noise operation.
- Internal combustion engine mode: The combustion engine powers the vehicle while the electric motor charges the batteries.
- BOOSTER function: During acceleration, the electric motor provides additional propulsion to support the internal combustion engine.
